An Easier Way to Evaluate Our Programs
Our simplified interface offers user-friendly tools to evaluate our programs without limiting your experience. Many flip book engines offer an overwhelming number of tool options that can clutter your desktop and hinder your reading experience. With Houghton Mifflin Harcourt virtual sampling, the text takes center stage. We know that the easier the text is to read, the better your evaluation experience will be.
Dashboard
The Dashboard offers the opportunity to jump directly into the program. You can use the Browse Module to select the grade and component you'd like to review.
Mini Dashboard
Evaluating materials online doesn't need to be complicated. That's why our Mini-Dashboard is programmed with only the most essential functions:
Home
Represented by a house icon, this button will take you back to the Dashboard.
Table of Contents
Clicking on Table of Contents will link you directly to the table of contents section in the text you're currently reviewing.
Search
Using the Mini-Dash Search you can search within the component you're evaluating, the grade you're evaluating, or across the entire program for the key issues, standards and lessons you're looking for.
Browse
Mini-Dash Browse is a valuable tool that allows you to view the program at a glance. Using this function, you can jump from one grade and/or component to another with a click of the mouse.
Help (?)
If you ever get stuck, you can always click the question mark for a diagram of how to use Virtual Sampling.
Three Ways to Turn the Page
With Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Virtual Sampling, you have 3 unique options for flipping through pages. You can click the corner of a page and that page will turn, simulating the experience of flipping through a physical book. You can also navigate through the book using the Backward and Forward buttons on either side of the text. Last but not least, you can jump quickly to a specific page using the Quick Jump Box below the text. Just enter a specific page number in the box, or click the Forward and Backward buttons.
One-Click Zoom
One differentiating feature in Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's virtual sample is a One-Click Zoom. Enhancing a section of the text is simple. Simply "click" your mouse over the area of interest. The first click will zoom in. The second click zooms out. Once you've zoomed-in, hold the left mouse button down and drag the cursor to move the text on your screen.
